Aquarius Full Moon Goddess Blessings!

It’s the Full Moon in Aquarius and Lunar Lammas today, August 3 at 8:59 AM Pacific Time. Time to tune into Mama Moon and the far reaches of the star in a collective group hug…or not! Brigid is one of the few early goddesses to survive intact through the Christian era. Brigid means ‘bright one’ as symbolized by fire. She is worshiped as a Triple Goddess by the Celtic Irish, called Brigantia in England, Bride in Scotland and Brigandu in Celtic France. In her ancient form as carrier of the cauldron she was ruler of smithcraft, poetry, inspiration, healing and medicine. The Christian Saint Bridget is often invoked as both muse and healer in continuation of her ancient rites and her rituals were preserved for more than 1000 years after she ceased to be called a goddess. Today little is left of the ancient Celtic legends describing her.

If this card appears in a reading you are heading into the unknown and that can be scary, but at least you will be prepared. It may be a journey within to the hidden depths of your soul or it may take place in the mundane realms. It may be a time of deep emotion, facing fears, overcoming a challenge, seeking truth, legal issues, or worries and stress but you will come through it transformed and stronger than ever.

In my own life this card was inspired by a phone call from my best friend whose car had been stolen. She was okay, but shaken and very angry. It brought out her dark side which I witnessed and then I painted it. The energy was intense and I needed to find a way to help her and myself release the energy in a beneficial way that helped both of us move on in the process.

Kuan-Yin is a feminine Bodhisattva, or Buddha-to-be and is the most powerful being in the entire Chinese pantheon and the chief symbol of compassion in the Orient.  Her name translates to “she who hears the weeping world”. By constantly repeating her name, it was said to bring peace and generosity into her worshiper’s lives.

Just recently I switched to offering my readings by phone (not the ancestor reading though) which includes an audio recording (and transcript) and I'm finding it to be a much more satisfying and personal experience than writing them out. My Ancestor Readings are also back after a long hiatus and I'm finding it a true honour and a blessing to connect with those who've passed over and to pass on messages to loved ones left behind. It's such a comfort and mind-blowing too, when we realize that the soul lives on. I'm working with Goddess Ma'at (after an ostrich dream alerted me to her presence) and with Goddess Rhiannon who are both Underworld Goddesses that help us tune in on a deep, psychic level.

Gemini New Moon: Open Your Heart + Blow Your Mind!

Dear Moon Muser,
Today I’ll be sharing a Gemini Goddess with affirmations from my upcoming deck plus a video of a guided meditation and Spring walk through a gorgeous cactus/succulent garden with 2 handbuilt adobes near my home in Southern California. I pull oracle cards (you can choose one to work with) and then we tune into our sacral orange chakra and green heart chakra to help awaken creativity, sensuality and heart energy. I believe my newest animal spirit guide, the Ostrich is helping me because in a recent dream the Ostrich in all her fluttery, winged gorgeousness approached me and licked my arm.

In mythology the Egyptian Goddess Maat, goddess of truth, took the form of an ostrich feather to be weighed on a scale along with the heart of the deceased as they entered the underworld. If the heart weighed more than an ostrich feather the deceased was sent to 'the bad place'. If the heart and feather were balanced the soul departed happily victorious to mingle with the gods and spirits of the dead. (Excerpted from The Book of Goddesses & Heroines by Patricia Monaghan)
