How To Give Your Intuition A Work Out (Pisces New Moon)

It’s time again to set your intentions for the New Moon. In Pisces this Moon brings us watery, blissful, spiritual vibes so take advantage of this moon-ey time to get some much needed rest (it IS the dark time of the moon so you may feel low-energy) and to be creatively blissed out through ritual, love, crafting, baking, making art, music or even just sitting in nature in meditation.

I turned to my one of my artistic mentors (who is deceased) by the name of Leonora Carrington and practiced the ancient technique of Bibliomancy which means I randomly (intuitively) chose a few words of hers (from her short stories) to guide the direction of this New Moon blog. The results of my experiment indicated that you may have a real need right now for more spiritual inspiration. I also want to tie that thought in to my newest painting “Bellona” from my upcoming Faerieality Oracle Deck.

Bellona is a Bibliomantically inspired painting. The quote that inspired her came from The Book of Shadows by Phyllis Curott.

Bellona sliced another opening between the worlds and again she spoke the archaic yet stirring words, this time declared as a warrior’s challenge.
— The Book of Shadows by Phyllis Curott

Bellona’s “domain included the entire arena of conflict, diplomatic as well as military. Even her name shows her importance, for the Latin word for war, bellum, derives from her name.” (quotation from The Book of Goddesses & Heroines by Patricia Monaghan)

This technique of Bibliomancy puts intuition via chance into high gear and helps one trust one’s intuition even more. You can too, it takes practice and working out one’s intuition, like a muscle, to encourage it to grow stronger.

I also wanted to acknowledge the heart-broken this past Valentine’s Day. The pressure of this day may be too much for those in trauma from any kind of heart-break, loss, abandonment, bereavement or sorrow.

I heart you, I hear you. Bellona, warrior Goddess stands by you as your protector “In the names of Sekmet and Horus. So mote it be.”

Pisces Meditation

To feel love is pure warmth, wholeness, open-ness, selfless-ness, shameless, guiltless joy – that is love.

Pisces Affirmations

  • I believe

  • I relax in solitude

  • I am a mystic of the spirit realm

  • I create to my heart’s content

  • I open my heart to other’s realities

  • My dreams, visions and intuition guide me

  • I am the mermaid

I Paint Pisces

During the Pisces Meditation I questioned Love. Love is everything from pain to pleasure and I needed to listen and love myself first before I could love anyone else.  But how do we know if love is true? Love is warm, whole, open and selfless. Love is shameless, guiltless joy. Later that night I had a dream where Love poured through me unlike anything I’d ever felt before.

My Pisces painting flowed magically and gracefully onto the illustration board and I felt Her energy calm, serene, peaceful and knowing.

Allow Piscean energy into your life by letting love in. Share your creations because you know they are coming from a place of love. Love IS everything.

Love Surrounds Me

Dear Moon Muser,

Do you remember that moment when your dream, intuition, gut feel, or guides spoke and you listened, I mean really listened?

I do.

I know we all have this ability.
But, as usual, do we pay attention?

As a soul reader, I am asked certain questions a lot, about how to know if one is on the 'right' path or with the 'right' person and yes, I can weigh in with my intuition honed from years of practice into a bright light into a dark night, but my true goal is to awaken your own bright light and help YOU pay attention to the signs. Because Goddess knows, the Divines, our guides and ancestors send us signs ALL THE TIME.

This past week or so has been a challenging one for me as I witness the violence in the world and the speed and uncaring-ness with which we scurry and hurry to survive.

I loved watching a 2007 documentary last night about Sigur Ros, an Icelandic band that gave back by touring the very small towns of their homeland (after great international success) and playing free concerts attended by all - from babies to grandparents coming together in rapt, wide eyed wonder at the magical sounds of xylophone and guitar, violins, horns, piano and rocks being played while a high, high voice, straight out of faerie-land sent shivers down the spine ...

and I have hope, for us;
we WILL make it
and we will find love, we must,
to survive.

With Luv & Sparkly Blessings!

About Kathy Crabbe
I am proud to be an artist and soul reader, in business since 1993. I love my work and hope you've enjoyed coming along for the ride and allowing me to be of service to you through all the creative, healing work I do. Thank you.

The awakening of my intuitive gifts came at age 40 when I found myself creatively blocked so I switched to my left hand which awakened my right brain and inspired me to create a Lefty Oracle Deck and become a professional soul reader. I have since published 4 oracle decks with the Fairy Herbal Oracle deck coming in 2022.

I live in Southern California and soon in the 1000 Islands, Canada for half the year with my pooch and partner in homes we’ve built ourselves.

What is Your Gift?

This blog post has been a long time in coming folks, so thank you for caring. There have been many tears,  many goodbyes and much love and prayers shared with family and friends in the last two months, but as Denis says, "life goes on" and so it does, and so too does this blog.

I said goodbye to my birth mother Sally (I'm adopted) and to my Grandad (her father) over the last couple of months and I also spoke at my Grandad's Celebration of Life.

But, my news is, that my newest project is to be dedicated to Sally. It is both new and old; a project near and dear to my heart since it's infancy in 2000. As you may have guessed from the artwork above, my newest project involves the 'lefties' as they are affectionately known, or more formally as the Creative Soul Cards.

These cards meant a whole lot to Sally and me and to Sal's New Moon group of best friends. One Christmas I presented Sal with a New Moon Kit based upon my New Moon Class and we meditated, pulled cards and shared intentions at the New Moon during that visit. Afterwards Sal started her own New Moon Circle with several good female friends. The 'lefty' cards were a big part of this.

At Sal's Memorial I met up with these friends and we cried and talked a lot about Sally. Her friends told me how much this spiritual group meant to Sal during her last months and how much the Creative Soul Cards touched all their hearts and encouraged them to write and share their hopes, dreams and intentions with each other every month.

So, I'd like to dedicate these Creative Soul Cards to you, dear mum and I will continue to teach this class and share these cards with others just as you shared yourself with us by showing us what love is and how to be in love. That was your gift and this is my gift to you.

So, stay tuned folks, I'm working on getting this Creative Soul Deck published along with a guidebook. It will probably accompany my class which I currently teach online but would like to teach in person next.

P.S. The Creative Soul Card pictured above, "Ande was ready for any adventure" was one of the last cards I pulled for Sally and so it was fitting that Ande turned up today for my first "Lefty" post. And, just like Ande, Sal was ready for any adventure and I trust she's on her next big adventure right now.

1. How does your zodiac sign influence your life and your creativity?

Scorpio is the 8th house of the zodiac and is commonly associated with death, sex, secrets and change but what most people don't know is that we are very passionate and mysterious individuals. Every sign has it's good and bad traits but the passionate side of my sign has always fueled and influenced my creativity and maybe even the sensual and determined side too, since every project I start I see through to the end.

2. What do you like best about your sign and least?

What I like best about my sign is how passionate I can be be about something. I will tend to fight to the bitter end if it's something I believe in. I'm also a very loyal friend; honest, intuitive, sensual, driven, and a good listener. What I like least about my sign is that no matter how hard I try, tend to see things in black and white; no gray area. I'm also short-tempered, moody, secretive, emotional, and vindictive if you really piss me off. I like to think the good outweighs the bad.

3. How has being a Scorpio helped you become a better artist?

I never thought about this until asked this question but being a Scorpio has fueled me as an artist; I'm very passionate about my work and what I do. I've told people in the past that this is my god given talent and I won't waste it on them or anyone else; I put all my energy into my work. On bad days when I'm feeling down or upset, my work is what I run to ever since I was a child. Also being a Scorpio has made me very intuitive. For some reason I'm always ahead of the trends or I hit the mark. Time and time again it keeps happening and my intuition has never steered me wrong.

4. What kind of creative activities are best suited to your zodiac sign?

Because Scorpio tends to have many good and bad traits, any creative activity that deals with the arts is best for my sign. For me personally, I love to draw, sew, and make jewelry. The more creative outlets a Scorpio has the better in my book. Since we tend to be very emotional, it helps us express ourselves and release anything we're holding in. We are known as being very secretive and mysterious so I think to find out our deepest inner workings, we need look to our art for a hint.

5. What advice do you have for other Scorpios who are just starting to explore and develop their creativity?

Scorpios tend to hold things in and when they reach their capacity they explode. So, to avoid the whole explosion, we need to find an outlet to express what we are feeling inside; we need to write it, paint it, or even draw it - a masterpiece is sitting inside us to be released and shared with the world. It's important to see everything to the end because you may be surprised where you end up.

Scorpio Artist Gaetana T. ParrisGeatana's Bio I attended and graduated from the Katherine Gibbs School with an Associate Degree in Fashion Design and Merchandising. While in school, I became close friends with a classmate and we came up with the idea of starting our own company. I soon realized that I was the only one motivated enough to start and own my own business so it was best for me and my classmate to part ways, but in the process we also lost our friendship.

After getting back on my feet, I went back to the drawing board and came up with a company name and the products that I would like to sell. Although my main focus is designing women’s apparel, I decided to also create handbags and accessories. For about a year I dabbled making samples of handbags and eventually started to try my hand at jewelry. Since my father is a vendor in Brooklyn, New York I decided to see what the public thought of my products and within weeks my jewelry took off with a life of its own, and customers began to ask for custom designed pieces.

As time drew closer for my younger sister to graduate from high school and leave New York to attend college in Florida, I made the decision that I would join her. I needed a change of scenery. So, at the beginning of 2007 I left for Florida, where my dream of owning my own company began to take form.

In June of 2007, Satin Doll & Co. was born in South Florida featuring handmade jewelry, accessories and handbags in our Etsy shop and our web site.

Fast forward 3 years and I'm back in New York with several collections of jewelry under my belt, hundreds of pieces of jewelry sold, and business booming. I'm currently working on several new lines of jewelry for my company and I will be releasing my signature collection in the coming weeks so keep your eye peeled.
